Kathie Knox (she/her)
Physiotherapist - Pediatric
Kathie is a dedicated and empathetic physiotherapist who has extensive experience specializing in the assessment and treatment of babies and children.
She has particular expertise working with infants and families who have experienced prematurity and high-risk birth, working for many years in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Level II Nursery at Mount Sinai Hospital and in the Integrated SickKids-Mount Sinai Neonatal Follow-Up Clinic where babies received ongoing review and treatment.
In addition to hospital-based therapy, Kathie has broad experience providing paediatric physiotherapy in the community, seeing infants and children in their homes and schools both in the GTA and Overseas.
Kathie also has a special interest in soothing fussy or “colicky” babies and has been a key note speaker and provider of a number of workshops on crying, for both health care professionals and parents. She understands the rocky beginnings and the complex, challenging road families must navigate. She is driven to provide optimal care, looking at all facets of development, and is passionate about creating partnerships with families, to advocate, educate, support and link them each step of the way.
Kathie has been an educator and co-leader of parent support groups. She has been involved in research and attained Lecturer Status at the University of Toronto. She has been an invited speaker and presenter at workshops and conferences locally, nationally and internationally. Upon invitation she taught physicians at the Children’s Hospital of Fudan University in Shanghai, China.
Kathie is fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
