Pelvic Floor Basics for Birth – ONLINE
This class is currently being taught ONLINE in a live-taught, interactive format.
We have all heard about our pelvic floor at some point! But what is it? And what impact does pregnancy and birth have on Your pelvic floor?
Come and learn the basics of pelvic floor health, taught by one of our Pelvic Health Physiotherapists!
We will provide you with prenatal exercises, labour tips, optimal pushing practices AND postnatal recovery tips.
This workshop is for anyone who is preparing for birth, whether it’s your first child or your fifth. We love how supportive your partners are, however, this workshop is for birthing people only.
Classes and workshops are non-refundable. Cancellations made more than 2 weeks prior to the start of the class/workshop will be credited in full to your account. Cancellations made less than 2 weeks or after class has started will not be credited.
Changes such as switching into another class or workshop may be made without penalty if the change is requested 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the workshop.
In the event that a class or workshop is cancelled, registered students are eligible for a refund or may select an alternative and equally priced class or workshop option.
On occasion, teachers may be substituted at short notice; in such cases the cancellation policy still applies. There’s no exception to this policy. We thank you for your understanding.
Refunds will not be given for failure to attend a pay-what-you-can class or workshop.

- Amy GildnerPhysiotherapist - Pelvic and Orthopaedic
In addition to being an orthopaedic physiotherapist, Amy is a certified pelvic floor physiotherapist. She uses internal and external manual techniques to evaluate the function of the pelvic floor muscles to address a multitude of conditions and improve overall quality of life.
Amy has taken extensive continuing education courses in manual therapy, acupuncture, and has become a certified Pilates instructor which allows her to treat a multitude of patients and conditions. Amy completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University and her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. After hours, you can find her engaged in one of a variety of sports but probably soccer.

Kirsten believes that every person should be given the opportunity to feel their best. She utilises her knowledge and skills in pelvic health and orthopaedic physiotherapy to deliver holistic care to an array of women’s pelvic health conditions.
Kirsten completed an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology at McMaster University and a Master of Physiotherapy Studies at University of Queensland. She has continued this education and built her repertoire with courses in manual therapy, acupuncture, Pilates and pelvic health from leading experts based in Canada, USA and Australia.
In her spare time, you will find Kirsten at a rock climbing gym, training for a half marathon or undertaking a creative art project.

Alison completed her Honour’s Bachelor of Kinesiology at McMaster University and her Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. Alison is a firm believer in holistic care and the benefits of involving the health care team in each patient’s recovery. Alison has a passion for education and has completed courses in pelvic health, acupuncture, manual therapy and McKenzie MDT, all of which have helped to enhance her practice. When Alison isn’t working at the clinic, she enjoys travelling, running, hiking and spending time with family and friends.
