From chiropractic care to acupuncture, from naturopathic medicine to nutrition, everyone who works at West End Mamas is here for one reason only: to support women through one of the most important times of their lives.

We offer one-on-one consultations, relevant workshops for moms and moms-to-be, drop-in groups, fitness and yoga classes, lactation and breastfeeding support, doula services, and more. Most importantly, we provide a supportive community filled with people who understand.

Sarah Mickeler

A Little Bit About Dr. Sarah Mickeler:

Dr. Sarah is Canada’s leading expert on prenatal and postpartum chiropractic care as well as non-invasive approaches to encourage optimal fetal positioning. Dr. Sarah specializes in labour preparation, pain relief during pregnancy, and treating malpositions such as breech, transverse, and posterior babies. She is also deeply passionate about postpartum wellness. After hours, you'll find Dr. Sarah in her west-end Toronto home, with her husband Kevin, and her busy, hilarious toddler Owen.

West End Mamas is Dr. Sarah's second baby. After working in the birthing world for close to 15 years, she decided to open West End Mamas, a one-stop wellness hub for people on the motherhood path. She is deeply humbled that so many of Toronto's top prenatal and postpartum experts jumped on board with her for this amazing journey!

Dr. Daniela Arciero

A Little Bit About Dr. Daniela Arciero:

Like Dr. Sarah, Dr. Daniela has a special interest in labour preparation, pain relief during pregnancy, treating malpositions such as breech, transverse, and posterior babies, and is passionate about postpartum wellness. She also focuses on the chiropractic treatment of kids!

Dr. Daniela has a long history of working with women and children. She is thrilled to be an integral part of the team at the GTA’s only multidisciplinary wellness clinic that focuses exclusively on the needs of pregnant and postpartum women. After hours, you'll find Dr. Daniela at home with her husband and two gorgeous children.

Emily Richardson

A Little Bit About Emily Richardson:

Emily is a passionate birth and postpartum doula, and a proud mother of a wonderfully sweet little boy. She understands how important the birthing and postpartum experience are and how they can be nurtured with the right support.

Her goal and passion is to help make the journey of childbirth the best it can be, by supporting Mom & partner in every way she is able. She believes women can and deserve to have an empowering and fulfilling birth experience. Being present during this time in people's lives is a gift and a privilege.

Geraldine Dempsey

A Little Bit About Geraldine Dempsey:

Geraldine has been attending births in Toronto for over fourteen years and also works as a postpartum doula, yoga instructor and childbirth educator (Birthing from Within).

Her support during pregnancy, birth and postpartum aims to instill confidence in the new parents so they can make choices that are right for them. She is the mother of two teenage children.

Amy Gildner
Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist

A Little Bit About Amy Gildner:

Amy is a certified pelvic floor physiotherapist. She uses internal and external manual techniques to evaluate the function of the pelvic floor muscles to address a multitude of conditions and improve overall quality of life.

Amy has taken extensive continuing education courses in manual therapy, acupuncture, and has become a certified Pilates instructor which allows her to treat a multitude of patients and conditions. Amy completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University and her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. After hours, you can find her engaged in one of a variety of sports but probably soccer.

Susan Fazekas
Registered Massage Therapist

A Little Bit About Susan Fazekas:

Sue is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) with over ten years of proven experience helping patients improve their health and recover from injuries, aches, and chronic pain. She offers customized treatments to address a wide range of symptoms, from pregnancy aches and pains to reducing stress and lifting your spirit. Sue offers specialized prenatal, infant and child massage as well as labour support.

In addition to her formal education, Susan continues to devote herself to perfecting and adopting new techniques including post-Cesarean section scar work. Sue graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2005 and has successfully treated hundreds of grateful and loyal patients.

Anna Sherman

A Little Bit About Anna Sherman:

Compassionate, straightforward, and down-to-earth, Anna is a Registered Marriage & Family Therapist who works with individuals, couples, and families. Anna uses a client-centered collaborative approach, helping clients find the root of their challenges and ultimately gain the skills to heal and move forward in their lives. Anna’s treatment specializations include anxiety/depression, dating and relationships, couples counselling, family counselling, parenting support, postpartum support, separation and divorce, work and career issues, stress management, and conflict resolution.

Anna holds a Master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy and uses a variety of therapeutic approaches including Emotion-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Gottman Couples Counselling, Family Systems, Bowen Theory and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Taya Griffin
Lactation Consultant

A Little Bit About Taya Griffin:

Taya is an Internationally Certified Board Lactation Consultant who is passionate about helping mothers prepare for their breastfeeding journey and supporting them, at home or in the hospital, to reach their individual breastfeeding goals. Taya also co-hosts and facilitates the breastfeeding workshops and clinics at West End Mamas.

Taya is a graduate of the International Breastfeeding Centre/ Newman Breastfeeding Clinic Lactation Medicine Program where she worked as an intern directly under Dr. Jack Newman and Edith Kernerman. She is also a graduate of the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicine where she holds a Professional Diploma in Health Sciences and Homeopathic Medicine.

Carolyn Sinclair
Prenatal and Postpartum Educator

A Little Bit About Carolyn Sinclair:

Carolyn is a Registered Midwife on hiatus from practicing midwifery in order to teach and support community members through their transition into parenthood. Carolyn has extensive experience preparing for hospital and home births, including water births. She is a certified Heart & Stroke Foundation BLS instructor, Babywearing Educator, holds certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation & ALARM, and has completed the Infant Mental Health Community Training with The Hospital for Sick Children.

Carolyn is a very active member of the West End community. She hosts the monthly West End Breastfeeding Café as well as the West End Walking Group. She also co-organizes the Bloor West Moms Group Meetup and Movies for Mommies at The Humber Cinema. She is a proud mother to three beautiful children.

Megan Tasker
Doula, Childbirth Educator

A Little Bit About Megan Tasker:

Megan came to doula work after nearly a decade in knowledge translation and research at Queen's University and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health where she focused on maternal health, the family, and concurrent disorders among youth. In 2012, Megan decided to leave the cubicle behind in order to pursue her passion. Megan prides herself on her non-judgmental way of caring for clients, her commitment to being current on best birth practices, genuine sincerity, and well-timed sense of humour.

Megan works and teaches in partnership with Taylor Le Blanc, another West End Mamas doula.

Marjorie Wong
Doula, Workshop Instructor

A Little Bit About Marjorie Wong:

Marj is a birth and postpartum doula. She is also a prenatal yoga instructor, an educator, and a diaper-free enthusiast. Marj works with prenatal and postpartum clients, educating families looking for a natural alternative to full-time diapering. It is with great joy that Marj shares her expertise and knowledge, assisting and supporting moms, partners, and families. It is her wish to support you on your birth journey, in wellness and health.

For Marj, motherhood was the natural impetus to her work in supporting women and families through pregnancy. Marj is a mother of two and is every day inspired to live holistically, as nature intended.

Shireen is a Prenatal Yoga Instructor and Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN). Shireen teaches from the heart and offers her clients and students a safe, supportive environment where they can explore their body through movement and gain the tools and knowledge to confidently take charge of their health and fertility.

Shireen is dedicated to understanding and supporting women throughout their journey into motherhood. She sees the body as a truly complex ecosystem that needs to be nurtured and nourished in its entirety - body, mind, and soul - in order to experience optimum health and happiness. She holds a Bachelor of Biological Science and is a trained doula.

Sarah is a Peaceful Parenting Coach and educator. Sarah teaches parents a non-punitive, connection-based approach that uses firm limits with lots of empathy. She helps parents of toddlers-­to­-tweens turn philosophy into practice with solutions for real-life struggles. Receive the tools you need to respond to your children with more patience and emotional generosity and learn a practical and compassionate approach for less drama and more love.

Sarah is an API certified parenting educator and is certified by Dr. Laura Markham as an Aha! Peaceful Parenting Coach. She lives in Toronto with her husband and three tween and teenage kids.

Tanya Meyers
Registered Massage Therapist

A Little Bit About Tanya Meyers:

Tanya is a Registered Massage Therapist. She treats a variety of conditions using Massage Therapy and Acupuncture, and has specialty training and experience in pregnancy massage, post-partum treatment, and infant massage instruction. Tanya also teaches Massage Therapy at Sutherland-Chan School in Toronto, and is also a birth coach/doula.

Tanya Smith

A Little Bit About Tanya Smith:

Tanya Smith is an acupuncturist and Chinese Herbal Medicine practitioner. She is the only member of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine in Eastern Canada with specialized training in supporting clients through their fertility treatment in partnership with a fertility clinic.

As a trained doula and the Ontario board representative for the Canadian Association of Obstetrical Oriental Medicine, Tanya has supported hundreds of clients on their parenthood journey. Whether you’re dealing with problematic periods, navigating fertility challenges, experiencing pregnancy discomforts, or are riding the rollercoaster of new parenthood, Tanya can help!

Heather Rule

A Little Bit About Heather Rule:

Heather is an acupuncturist. She studied reproductive health and pregnancy throughout her training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, twice interned in the labour and delivery ward at Lutheran Medical Centre in Brooklyn NY, and completed courses under Dr. Debra Betts, an expert in the field of obstetric acupuncture.

With a background in Gender Studies and a love of hands-on, practical, and creative work, Heather is continually inspired by how acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine can benefit pregnancy and labour outcomes. She is excited to collaborate with Toronto’s birthing community to make acupuncture for pregnancy and birth a common and accessible practice.

Allison Martineau

A Little Bit About Allison Martineau:

Allison has over 10 years of experience in health and nutrition. She has a Bachelor of Health Sciences from Western University and a Masters in Nutrition and Public Health from Columbia University. Her experience as a nutritionist and researcher at some of the top hospitals and universities (including Boston Children’s Hospital and Toronto’s Sick Kids Hospital) taught her the value of providing evidence-based recommendations.

She has a passion for sharing her nutritional strategies with expectant and new families to make cooking and eating for health during the preconception, pregnancy and postpartum periods simple and convenient.

Allison runs a nutrition practice called Sweetpea Nutrition and lives in Toronto with her husband and two young sons.

Joy Burlton

A Little Bit About Joy Burlton:

Joy understands that the mind and body are always in relationship with one another and affecting each other. Through homeopathy they can start influencing each other in a healthy manner. Joy has been practising in Toronto since 2007 and has continued to learn and grow with homeopathy.

Joy is trained in the LL fertility method and has helped many to realize the family they have been waiting for. Joy received her Bachelor of Health Sciences from the University of Western Ontario and her post-graduate Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Health Sciences from the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicine. After hours, Joy and her partner parent their lovely toddler and teenage foster girls.

Kaili Ets
Registered Occupational Therapist

A Little Bit About Kaili Ets:

Kaili Ets is a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist who has been working in pediatrics since 2008.

Kaili provides assessment and treatment to children ages 0-14 years, with a variety of diagnoses including, learning disability, Autism/Asperger’s, sensory processing disorder, attention deficit disorder, developmental delays, and physical disabilities.

Kaili has training in infant development, Sensory Integration, Reflex Integration, Autism, Handwriting (and Keyboarding) Without Tears, and the SOS Approach to Feeding, along with various other pediatric courses and approaches. She is looking forward to further training in nutrition, women's health, and therapeutic kids yoga.

Rose Le Blanc
Lactation Consultant

A Little Bit About Rose Le Blanc:

Rose knows from personal and professional experience how difficult breastfeeding can be, even if you’ve had more than one child. She also knows that every child and family is different so her approach is both gentle and with clear customized guidance. Rose helps mothers adjust to life with a new baby and reach their individual breastfeeding goals.

Rose is a graduate of Newman Breastfeeding Clinic Lactation Medicine Program and a CAPPA Certified Postpartum Doula. She also holds an honours degree in Anthropology from the University of Toronto and a degree in Social Work from York University. Kinga Babicki-Farrugia

A Little Bit About Kinga Babicki-Farrugia:

Dr. Kinga is passionate about empowering her patients to take charge of their health through balanced, evidence-based medicine. She strongly believes balance is the key to a healthy life and tries to live her life by this motto. Dr. Kinga has successfully supported numerous women in achieving and maintaining healthy pregnancies, managing pregnancy-related complications, and guiding them through their postpartum period.

Since graduating from the Canadian College of Naturopathic medicine in 2007, she has focused on women's health, fertility promotion, prenatal/postpartum care, and pediatrics. As a trained doula, she has also had the privilege of supporting women through one of the most challenging yet beautiful times of their lives.

Taylor Le Blanc

A Little Bit About Taylor Le Blanc:

Taylor has been supporting births in Toronto since 2013. She is passionate about providing nurturing care to all families as they transition through the demands of parenthood. Taylor is a certified Birth Doula with DONA International, certified Childbirth Educator through CBI, a certified pre- and postnatal movement specialist, and a yoga teacher. Her ability to fuse these modalities with patience and compassion brings to her clients’ a sense of confidence and acceptance in their parenting skills.

Taylor lives in the west end of Toronto where she’s usually found collecting vintage clothes, redecorating her space, or having a great cup of coffee.

Shawn Gallagher
Childbirth Educator

A Little Bit About Shawn Gallagher:

Shawn Gallagher is the creator of the ChildbirthJoy Prenatal Hypnosis Series. As a Board Certified Hypnotist (NGH) with specialties in pain management, childbirth preparation, and HypnoFertility®, she has worked with well over 500 couples since 1999.

Shawn retired from active midwifery practice (Midwife Alliance); she was a doula prior to this. She is a published author in the Bearing Witness: Childbirth Stories Told by Doulas series. With Ines Simpson, Shawn is a co-creator of the Simpson Protocol Foundational Birthing Program. Childbirth classes at West End Mamas include a mix of video and classes.

Karen McWilliam

A Little Bit About Karen McWilliam:

Karen offers private and group HypnoBirthing classes as well as private classes in the Birthing From Within method. She also offers a variety of empowering Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga classes, Parenting workshops, Mothers' Support Groups and Breastfeeding Support.

Karen is a DONA-certified Birth Doula, certified Mongan Method HypnoBirthing Practitioner, Postpartum Doula, certified Prenatal Yoga Teacher Trainer, Advanced Doula Trainer, and a Breastfeeding Counsellor. She is the Owner and Founder of Transitionings: Prenatal & Postpartum Support. Karen has attended births for over a decade in Toronto and the GTA, and she continues to support families as they transition to parenthood.

A Little Bit About Christine Duguay:

From helping pregnant mothers nourish their bodies to providing guidance on improving their child's diet, it's Christine's goal to use her expertise to promote healthy eating and reduce stress. Christine’s approach to nutrition is practical, realistic, and centred around the needs of you and your family.

Christine holds a Master‘s of Science in Nutritional Science from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Food and Nutrition from Ryerson University. She completed her clinical training at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Since becoming a dietitian, Christine has worked at the Hospital for Sick Children, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Southlake Regional Health Centre. Her work experience has helped her become an expert in prenatal and postnatal nutrition as well as the nutritional needs of premature infants, infants, children, and teenagers.

A Little Bit About Sarah Pilon:

Sarah is the West End Mamas Office Manager. Sarah loves meeting new people and understands the joy of family. Working with the West End Mamas community allows her the opportunity to be a part of this very important stage of our client’s lives.

Sarah started working for Dr. Sarah in early 2016 and came from a diverse background of graphic design, English literature, french language studies, while also running a home daycare. She is a Mom to a bright, curious, baseball-loving five-year-old. After hours, you can find her knitting, reading, riding her bike, or at a baseball game, concert, or Music Bingo.

Lisa Caron
Postpartum Doula

A Little Bit About Lisa Caron:

Lisa appreciates that parenthood is finding and listening to your inner wisdom and can guide you to discovering your own balance. With over two decades of coaching hundreds of women and their families through childbirth, breastfeeding, and parenting their newborn, certified doula Lisa Caron brings calm, reassurance, and a patient ear during this time of transition.

Along with supporting new families and teaching Newborn Care classes at one of Toronto’s leading hospitals, Lisa has published two books, Bearing Witness: Childbirth Stories Told by Doulas, and Joyful Birth. When Lisa is not helping new families, she is an avid salsa dancer.

A Little Bit About Monique Lahey:

Monique Lahey is a certified holistic nutritionist, content creator and marketing strategist. Combining her media experience with her passion for women's health and pre/postnatal nutrition, Monique is thrilled to provide the West End Mamas community with an online space that will connect, inspire, and inform.

As an experienced host, writer, photographer and producer, Monique has worked for a variety of media outlets including: MuchMusic, MuchMoreMusic, CP24, SheDoesTheCity and Dine.TO. She has also hosted and produced an online original video series featuring health, beauty and cooking tutorials for Foodnetwork.ca, Slice.ca, and HGTV.ca.

She herself is a mama-to-be and is very excited to be a part of the West End Mamas community!
